T.I. Professes: "I Am Sick and Tired of Going to Jail"

The reality of his troubles with the law may have finally hit home for Clifford "T.I." Harris. In an new post on his blog, the rapper vents his frustrations at himself for his criminal pasts, how he has to change for himself now, and the role that the absence of his father played in his life. I'm happy that he is finally  getting the message. Hopefully, this is his last stint in prison and he can learn from his mistakes.
Check out his message below:
This experience is truly a pain I have never felt before and that's saying a lot for a nigga who's been down locked up as many times as I have. I see this as a real ass whoopin'. The kind you don't just go back outside to play afterwards. You take ya ass to bed and don't come out of your room until it's time to go to school. I don' t know what effect this will have on my life moving forward but I'm certainly sick and mother f*cking tired of going to jail, juve, prison, the pen, correctional facilities or whatever else you want to call it. I'd have been better off doing a 5-10 year bid one time than going in time and time again for days, weeks and months for the last 15 years of my life. Even though it's been a long road, I'm still standing, barely but nevertheless still standing. At one time I thought my motivation for continuing was for my fans, my partna Philant, my pops, my grandmama, even for the haters or the people I let down. But nah... I got to do this shit for me!!! I'll be God damned if I've come all this way and made it through so much hell to let it go down like this! F*ck that! If an hour in the dark is worth a second in the sun then pass me my mother f*ckin' shades cause I'm ready to cash my darkest hours in...ASAP!!! A lot of folks had fathers or father figures in the house to raise them into manhood. I'm not trying to make any excuses for my situation but my father was a hustler that lived in New York. My uncle was a local big time dope boy turned 10 year federal inmate. My mother and grandparents did the best they could but I found my manhood in the trap and in prison systems. But I found it. And nan one of mine will ever have to feel the cold tight grip of a handcuff or grace the presence of a jail cell if I can help it. Over my dead body! So if you can't respect that you ain't rocking with my movement then Fuck you dog! I know a bunch of mother f*ckers who are.....

'Winnie'-Starring Jennifer Hudson & Terrance Howard (Trailer)

Check out the movie trailer of the biopic of Winnie the story on the life of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela starring Jennifer Hudson as Winnie and Terrance Howard as Nelson Mandela.

According to The Times Live:
The film that began shooting on May 31 in South Africa, follows the life of Winnie Mandela as played by Jennifer, after her husband South African Leader Nelson Mandela played by Terrance, was imprisoned during the Apartheid.
The film also tells of how Madikizela-Mandela has been depicted as the mother and wife who was a steadfast supporter of her activist husband and who was jailed for campaigning for his release and fighting against apartheid.
Her image was subsequently tarnished by association with a bodyguard who murdered a 14-year old alleged informer, and she was later convicted of fraud.

Based on Anna Marie du Preez Bezdrob’s biography Winnie Mandela:A Life, Andre Pieterse, Roodt, and Paul L. Johnson collaborated on the script. Roodt previously worked on 2006’s Yesterday, and also worked on Cry, the Beloved Country and Sarafina!

So You Really Think You Can Be A World Class Star?

Do you have the dedication and commitment that it takes to be a world class star? Check out this footage of Beyonce rehearsing for her performance of "Ring the Alarm" at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. The cameras followed the star as she reviewed footage of the dress rehearsal, changed some of the choreography at the last minute, and conducted press interviews in a span of 48 hours. This is the life of a star. Beyonce shows the world a glimpse of her life, how you have to be in control of your image, what kind of show that you give to your fans and how you hardly sleep in search of perfection. Are you up to that kind of challenge?

Chrisette Michele Calls Rick Ross Out

R&B Songstress Chrisette Michele recently took to her blog to voice her displeasure at Rick Ross and his antics at the 2010 Soul Train Awards last night. Apparently Ross left the awards show abruptly after losing the  "Best Hip Hop Song" award to Eminem. Ross and Michele were scheduled to perform "Ashton Martin Music" at the show. Check out her thoughts on hip hop below:

Rolling Stone Gives "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" Five Stars

The anticipation surrounding the release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the fifth studio album from Kanye West keeps rising as the release date nears. Rolling Stone recently reviewed the album giving it five stars and calling the album "his most maniacally inspired music yet, coasting on heroic levels of dementia, pimping on top of Mount Olympus. Yeezy goes for the grandeur of stadium rock, the all-devouring sonics of hip-hop, the erotic gloss of disco, and he goes for all of it, all the time. Nobody halfway sane could have made this album."

Rolling Stone contributor Sheffield also writes
Last time, Kanye went minimal for the electro melancholia of 808s & Heartbreak. But onFantasy, he gets ridiculously maximal, blowing past all the rules of hip-hop and pop, even though, for the past half-decade, he’s been the one inventing the rules. There are hip-hop epics, R&B ballads, alien electronics, prog-rock samples, surprise guests from Bon Iver to Fergie to Chris Rock, even a freaking Elton John piano solo. It’s his best album, but it’s more than that — it’s also a rock-star manifesto for a downsizing world. At a time when we all get hectored about lowering our expectations, surrendering our attention spans, settling for less, West wants us to demand more.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy  will be released on November 22. Check out iTunes to pre-order the disc and view the complete track listing.

MC Hammer Declares Beef with Jay-Z Over

It seems as if MC Hammer has finally come to his senses and "ended" his beef with Jay-Z  (which in my opinion really wasn't there in the first place). In an exclusive interview with allhiphop.com, he talks about the "beef" and his most recent work concerning the case of Oscar Grant, an unarmed black man who was fatally shot in Oakland, California in the early morning hours of New Year's 2009. He recently spoke with the Grant Family at a community event about injustice and what is being done to stop it.Check out a few excerpts below:

On why he is finally ending his feude with Jay-Z:
As a responsible veteran of twenty something years of this [Hip-Hop}. I can't leave it out there with tensions. I am reading comments on both sides, it's not about that, I have seen all of that before. There is an opportunity to say at some point. We onto the next thing. You know, Jay took his shot and I answered. Now let's move on.

What he feels his legacy in the Hip-Hop industry means to him:
Of the Jay-Z beef, while it is over, Hammer said that he simply wanted to make sure Hip-Hop was educated on who he is now, not only from the late 80s and 90s.

I already know that this beef was going to go down like this. I know the Hip-Hop audience. Ain't nobody more aware than me. To read the full interview, click here

Kanye West Live on Ustream

This Ustream was a hilarious mess! From the entire stream starting an hour late, Kanye dodging questions, stepping away to eat his five course meal, and the random rapper who tried to get on the G.O.O.D Music train, this was one for the books! Pusha T, Big Sean, and Cyhi Da Prynce made guest appearances to plug their new work!

George Bush Still Has Ill Feelings Toward Kanye West

Former President George W. Bush has revealed in his new book, Decision Points, that Kanye West's proclamation that "he doesn't care about black people" was the WORST moment in his presidency. Not September 11, 2001. Not Hurricane Katrina. Not even the war in Iraq. But a Kanye West diss?
